Private investigator licensing in Qatar
No. Qatar has no specific private investigator licence.
Qatar has no law that licenses private investigators. Law No. 19 of 2009 licenses private security companies through the Ministry of Interior, and Decision No. 7 of 2012 (as amended in 2021) lists the licensable services: guarding, bank support, cash transport, cash centres, CCTV work and maritime security (Art. 2). Investigation is not on that list, and licensed security companies may not use words such as 'تحريات' (investigations) or 'مباحث' in their advertising (Decision 7/2012, Art. 7). No official source says whether investigation may be run as an ordinary business.2
