Private investigator licensing in Luxembourg
No. Luxembourg has no specific private investigator licence.
Luxembourg has no specific licence for private detectives. The private security law of 12 November 2002 (Ministry of Justice authorisation) covers guarding, alarm centres, cash transport and close protection, not investigation, so a detective business needs only the general business permit (autorisation d'établissement) under the 2011 law. Data protection and privacy rules apply to the work itself.1
