Private investigator licensing in Kyrgyzstan
No. Kyrgyzstan has no specific private investigator licence.
Kyrgyzstan no longer issues a licence for private detectives: the licensing articles of the 1996 Law on Private Detective and Security Activity were repealed in December 2014, and detective work is not on the licensing list of the 2013 Law on the Licensing and Permit System. The law still sets who may work as a detective: a Kyrgyz citizen without any criminal record (even a spent one) and with legal education, special detective training or operational police experience, who must register as an individual entrepreneur. Detective firms must be led by a lawyer with at least three years in police operational or investigative units, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs supervises the sector.1
