Private investigator licensing in Zambia
No. Zambia has no specific private investigator licence.
Zambia has no law that licenses private investigators or detective agencies, and no dedicated private security statute either. A National Assembly committee report found that private security firms only register with PACRA (as business names or companies) and undergo initial police vetting, with no further regulatory framework, and recommended that one be created. No Private Security Services Act has been passed: none appears among Zambia's Acts or Bills to date. Investigation can be run as an ordinary registered business, subject to general law such as the Data Protection Act 2021 and the Cyber Security and Cyber Crimes laws.1
