Private investigator licensing in Lebanon
No. Lebanon has no specific private investigator licence.
Lebanon has no law that licenses private investigators; the Lebanese University legislation database has no text on private investigation. Minister of Interior Decision No. 138 of 2001 sets a 'temporary' licence only for guarding and protection, close protection and cash-transport firms, whose owners and staff must have been Lebanese for at least ten years (Art. 7). It bars those firms from any security work that falls within the remit of the state security agencies (Art. 3). No official source says whether investigation may be run as an ordinary business.1
