Private investigator licensing in Oman
No. Oman has no specific private investigator licence.
Oman has no law that licenses private investigators. Royal Decree 24/99 says no one may provide 'additional security services' to others without the approval of the Inspector General of Police and Customs and a licence granted by Royal Decree (Art. 1). The services it covers are central alarm monitoring, guarding, cash and jewellery transport, and security-guard training (Art. 2, as amended by Royal Decree 39/2004). Investigation is not listed, and no official source found says whether it may be run as an ordinary business.1
