Under Ecuador's 2024 private security law, investigations are a 'connected service' provided by private security professionals, and the Ministry of the Interior registers and accredits these professionals (Arts. 20, 22.17, 22.24). Licensed private security companies may also include investigations in their business purpose (Art. 32). Providing connected services without valid accreditation is an offence punished with fines (Arts. 81.9-81.10, 83.30). The detailed accreditation requirements are left to the general regulation and ministry rules, which have not been published.1
