Private investigator licensing in Nicaragua
No. Nicaragua has no specific private investigator licence.
Nicaragua has no licence for private investigators. The Private Security Services Law (Ley 903), run by the Policía Nacional, licenses four kinds of service only: physical guarding and personal protection, protection of valuables, non-lethal electronic security (including GPS monitoring) and security training (Arts. 5, 10). The same article bans any person or company from searching for information or data in ways that breach constitutional rights to privacy, or on matters reserved to the Policía Nacional under Ley 872 (Art. 10). This leaves little room for surveillance-type work; investigation outside the law's licensed services is otherwise not regulated as a profession.1
