Private investigator licensing in Algeria
No. Algeria has no specific private investigator licence.
Algeria has no law that licenses private investigators (détectives privés). Legislative Decree 93-16 of 1993 covers only guarding and the transport of cash and sensitive goods: companies need prior authorisation (Art. 5), staff must be Algerian nationals without criminal convictions (Art. 8), and they are barred from involvement in labour disputes and from any form of 'surveillance d'opinion' (Art. 7). No official source found says whether investigation may be run as an ordinary business. Later amendments to the 1993 decree were not checked.1
