Private investigator licensing in Seychelles
No. Seychelles has no specific private investigator licence.
Seychelles has no licence for private investigators. The Licences Act (Cap. 113) makes the Seychelles Licensing Authority responsible for licensable business activities listed in its Schedule, and neither that Schedule (consolidated to 1 December 2014) nor the Authority's 2025 list of licensable activities and fees mentions investigation. Security services are handled through the 'labour contractor' licence under the Licences (Miscellaneous Services) Regulations, for which the Ministry responsible for Defence and the Commissioner of Police are consulted (Schedule 3). Investigation does not appear to need a licence of its own, though general business, company and data protection laws still apply; no official source addresses PI work directly, and no newer private security law was checked.2
