Private investigator licensing in Gabon

No. Gabon has no specific private investigator licence.

Gabon has no law that licenses private investigators or investigation agencies. The only private security regime, Order No. 0011/MISPD of 2015, applies to services protecting goods that are guarded or transported and people linked to those goods (Art. 2), defines security work as protecting people and property inside buildings or premises (Art. 3) and excludes services not linked to that security (Art. 5); owners need a six-month provisional authorisation from the Minister of the Interior, renewable once (Arts 6 and 8). The official Journal officiel database returns no text on private detectives, so investigation is run as an ordinary business, subject to general criminal and privacy law.1
