Private investigator licensing in Federated States of Micronesia
No. Federated States of Micronesia has no specific private investigator licence.
The national Code of the Federated States of Micronesia contains no licence for private investigators, detectives, inquiry agents or private security firms: a full-text check of its 53 titles on PacLII found only passing references to watchmen and public or private agencies. Ordinary business licensing is largely a matter for the four states (Chuuk, Kosrae, Pohnpei and Yap), whose codes were not checked, so a state business permit may be needed. This is unverified at state level; no source mentions a state-level investigator licence.1
